 Fall Means Rebirth

To the plant world Fall means harvest and shedding leaves until Spring, but for square dancers it is the start of a new year  of square dancing!  New Beginners Class begins Thursday, Sept 9 at the RVSDC.  The beginning of classes is always timed to coincide with the date of the club meeting so there will be plenty of Angels available to help the Newbees.

Club meeting is at 6 and the Beginners class starts at 7.  Wayne will be in particularly good voice this year.  Let’s give him a grand ovation when he announces he is going to sing.

 President’s Letter

Diamond Lake sparkled and the dancing was great. We had 30 squares on Saturday night, and so many of you expressed your pleasure with the calling and cueing, and apparently all who attended had a good time. We congratulate our Diamond Lake Committee, who always put a great effort into making the Festival memorable.

September is always a busy month for all the clubs, with everyone returning from vacation and new classes starting. Hope for the future of dancing is somehow renewed when we see our new students at class. Don't forget that over 90% of them come in response to personal invitations by their friends and co-workers.

The Stars have E-Z mainstream on Friday, Sept. 3 as the Labor Day weekend begins. Then mainstream on Saturday, the 11th, and advanced & plus on Saturday Sept. 25.

Our beginners class starts Thursday, Sept. 9, 7-9 pm, with the first 3 weeks open to new students, and these 3 weeks are free. And Wayne's Sunday evening mainstream workshop and new plus class, which began Aig. 22, remain open another week or two.

The freshly painted interior of our hall makes it a brighter and happier place. We thank the dozen or so volunteers, and especially Wayne Weaver and Arleen Zack, who led the painting party.
